Birds and the Bees sculptural willow weaving course.

in this course you will will begin by creating these elegant 2D swallows in flight, which are ideal for displaying on a wall. You will use a jig to size and shape the wings and then match an appropriate body size to go with them, creating your own frame before completing with a figure of eight weave. Finally you will attach wings and body together before moving on to your next bird. I would anticipate that you will make 2 of these birds in the time we have.

Then you will progress to 3D sculpture as you make a bee. You will create a frame and weave a willow skin on to this. Then wings are added before finishing off with dark and light stripes.

You will have different varieties of basket grade willow to use.
